The Patient Account Specialist role is responsible for managing patient account receivables by working closely with insurance companies and internal teams to resolve account issues. This position ensures timely claims processing and accurate account adjustments, directly impacting the organization's financial operations and patient service quality.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on accounts receivable by contacting insurance companies.
• Adhere to established procedures and practices for account management.
• Review and follow up on unpaid, overpaid, over-adjusted, and denied claims.
• Analyze and appeal claim denials related to insurance processing issues.
• Communicate with internal and external customers to resolve claim issues promptly.
• Identify and process claim rebilling and submit secondary claims as necessary.
• Assist with patient responsibility follow-up.
• Respond to direct patient inquiries.
• Support on-site facility needs as directed by leadership.

Requirements

• Ability to work specified hours and perform essential job functions effectively.
• Visual acuity and communication skills sufficient for position duties.
• Associate's or technical degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of related experience preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.50 to $25.50 per hour, dependent upon experience.
