Responsible for supporting the daily operations of University Physicians Patient Accounts by performing a variety of administrative and revenue cycle functions that promote efficient billing workflows and high-quality customer service.
Responsibilities
- Complete pre-bill edits, coordinate task assignments, and prepare daily reports and departmental communications.
- Process post-service medical records requests and index documentation to ensure accurate and timely record management.
- Monitor and analyze daily workflow trends, identify recurring issues and opportunities for process improvement, and proactively communicate findings and recommendations to the supervisor.
- Perform trend analysis on pre-bill edits, medical records requests, documentation deficiencies, workflow inefficiencies, payer requirements, and other operational activities impacting revenue cycle performance.
- Support insurance follow-up, denial resolution, appeals, claim corrections, and other accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Maintain compliance with University Physicians policies, HIPAA, Medicare, and payer requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency, reduce rework, and optimize reimbursement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
- Two (2) years of clerical experience; education may be used in lieu of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of accounts receivable management, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, modifiers, coding, and documentation guidelines.
- Experience with Managed Care plans and payer guidelines.
Pay
Salary Range: $16.68 - $26.31 hourly
