Patient Account Representative - Cardiology Clinic

About the Role

This position coordinates all financial aspects of patient accounts and assists with financial counseling, billing, and collection of accounts. The role involves managing patient inquiries, processing claims, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Distributes, sorts, and forwards accounts
• Processes claims
• Manages accounts and follows up with any issues
• Handles patient inquiries
• Balances accounts, compiles statistics, inputs data into computer programs, and researches information
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements
• Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards
• Handles other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (required)
• Knowledge of medical/insurance billing procedures, including Medicare and Medicaid
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-directed with strong customer service skills
• Proper phone etiquette and ability to handle flexibility, stress, and change
