Job Summary
Prepare and process superbill charges and payments, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. Post charges and payments to patient accounts, and efficiently schedule daily appointments.
Responsibilities
- Meticulously post charges and payments to patient accounts
- Efficiently schedule daily appointments
- Respond to inquiries and correspondence related to patient billing concerns
- Validate complex insurance information
- Process credit card transactions received directly from patients through the credit card machine
- Follow-up with insurance carriers and Dignity Health Medical Foundation staff for information essential for proper billing and collections
- Resolve claim edits
- Process reports as needed to ensure efficient billing
Requirements
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Required: Three (3) years minimum experience of administrative and/or customer service in a professional medical billing office
- Preferred: Six (6) months experience with IDX
- Required: Ability to read and explain an explanation of benefits (EOB) for HMO and FFS patients
- Required: Ability to read and explain benefits and co-payment information
- Required: Ability to communicate effectively during difficult situations
- Preferred: Working knowledge of computers and demonstrated proficiency in using e-mail systems, Internet and MS office software applications
