About the role
The Patient Account Registrar is responsible for interviewing patients or their representatives to collect demographics, insurance details, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with admitting and reception teams
- Operate computer systems for data entry and retrieval
- Communicate effectively across age groups using appropriate techniques
- Maintain proficiency in medical terminology
- Handle special projects as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior hospital or customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology advantageous
- Effective communication, multitasking, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
