Patient Account Registrar
Responsibilities
- Interviews patients or their representatives to obtain patient demographics.
- Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
- Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator function and reception areas.
- Operates a computer to input and retrieve data.
- Communicates with the population served using age-specific techniques from neonatal to geriatrics.
- Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
- Performs special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes.
Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Services experience required.
- A High School Graduate or GED Equivalent is required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $15.50 to $22.45. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
Schedule
Nights: 11p-7:30a, must be able to work weekends.
