Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to obtain patient demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
• Collaborate with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator functions and reception areas.
• Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicate effectively with a diverse population, utilizing age-specific techniques from neonatal to geriatric care.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (required for all new hires effective 4/1/14).
• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $16.10/Hr. to $21.72/Hr. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Schedule
