About the role
The Patient Account Registrar position at Saint Mary’s Health Network is a vital role that involves interviewing patients or their representatives to gather necessary information and interfacing with various departments within the healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients or their representatives to obtain identifying and verifying information such as name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, and insurance information.
- Obtain authorization as needed.
- Interface with the PBX operator and reception areas.
- Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
- Communicate with the population served using age-specific techniques from neonatal to geriatrics.
- Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
- Perform special projects and other assignments within specified timeframes.
Requirements
- Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Services experience required.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent preferred.
