Located in historic Bristol, Pennsylvania, the hospital is well-known for its knowledgeable medical staff, including cardiology, orthopedics, radiology, wound care, and general surgery. The hospital has more than 200 physicians on staff, as well as another 700 employees.

Responsibilities

• Interview the patient or their representative to obtain patient demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
• Work closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator function and reception areas.
• Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicate with the population served, utilizing age-specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes.

Requirements

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (required for all new hires effective 4/1/14).
