Patient Access Team Lead (Central Scheduling)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Schedules/Pre-Registers procedures for OR, SDS, PAT, CLI and Ancillary services
• Liaison between the OR and physician offices for scheduling procedures and ancillary services
• Enters demographic and insurance information correctly and in a timely manner in both PHS and STAR
• Willingly assists physicians as needed in an efficient manner
• Ensures all messages are verified and returned to the appropriate party within 24 hours
• Uses proper telephone and customer service etiquette when communicating with physicians, patients, visitors, internal and external customers
• Courteously receives, greets and directs patients, visitors and staff as needed
• Performs clerical duties in accordance with procedures of assigned department as outlined in Policy and Procedure Manual
• Utilizes EasyLink to ensure orders are properly processed and filed in the correct folder for retrieval upon registration
• Serves as a leader in patient access and effectively represents the department in hospital relationships

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma
• Experience working in patient access or medical records
• Previous experience as a Team lead or Supervisor in an Admissions/Registration function
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Functional knowledge of personal computers and basic PC application programs including word processing and spreadsheets; database knowledge a plus
