Responsibilities

• Assists patients in understanding and managing financial responsibilities related to medical care.
• Verifies insurance coverage and explains benefits to patients.
• Captures and coordinates payment plans and financial assistance programs.
• Resolves billing inquiries and collaborates with providers and billing departments.
• Educates patients on available financial resources.
• Maintains oversight of outstanding balances and documents all interactions.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree or related coursework preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in patient financial counseling or account management.
• Expertise in insurance verification and explaining patient benefits.
• Experience coordinating payment plans and financial assistance programs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and patient privacy standards.
