Key Responsibilities
- All interactions are conducted in a professional manner, following H.E.A.R.T. guidelines, to provide exemplary Customer Service as evidenced by leadership evaluation, peer and customer feedback.
- Data obtained and entered into the system is accurate and free of errors and is complete.
- All processes requiring verification/signatures/authorizations are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Understand/explain policies regarding services, medical necessities, and scheduling and authorization processes.
- Obtain or create copies of necessary supporting documentation and ensure they are saved according to policy.
- Works with physician offices and ancillary departments, providing information when necessary or forwarding relevant documents, is a resource for other care partners.
- Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner and meet the number of completed interactions currently established for the department, often excelling in work volume produced.
- Make outgoing calls to patients and providers as needed to schedule appointments and or obtain updated/corrected order information; and meet the number of completed interactions currently established by the department, often excelling in work volume produced.
- All duties are conducted as per standard operating policies or generally accepted practices, meeting or exceeding performance expectations, and completing work within the required timeframe; often taking on more work.
- Attends in-service presentations and completes mandatory education.
- Succeeds in successfully completing annual net learning modules and other assigned classes by established deadlines.
- Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
- Follow EMTALA, HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Proactively identify problems and issues within the department and the hospital and informs department leader; regularly provides constructive feedback and suggestions for departmental process improvement.
Qualifications
- Formal Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in Patient Access at PMC/Parrish Healthcare required. Also, the employee must exceed all work standards: Quality - 99% accuracy on IPlan Assignment POS Collections meets or exceeds 85% of collectable amounts Consistently meets or exceeds productivity requiremnt for assigned tasks Requires VP/ Executive Director and Patient Access Director approval of promotion to this position
