Patient Access Specialist - Homedale

General Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, and assist patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
• Schedule and register patients, collecting required data accurately.
• Determine eligibility for services and counsel patients on payment policies.
• Maintain a comfortable and clean waiting area by managing the waiting room atmosphere and informing patients of wait times.
• Engage with clients involved in the criminal justice system.
• Work with content of a sexual or violent nature, whether through conversation or documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Provide strong customer service to a complex patient population.
• Show good verbal and written communication skills.
• Show basic bookkeeping skills, including cash handling, posting charges, and deposits.
• Be proficient in navigating multiple computer software programs such as EHR, Microsoft Office products, scanner, calculator, and multi-line telephone.
• Be a self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Paid

DOE: $18.28/hour

Qualifications

• Experience as a receptionist in a medical, dental, or social services setting is preferred.
• Show strong bookkeeping or accounting skills.
• Show strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Show experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system for serious offenses and/or individuals seeking help, rehabilitation services or treatment.
