Patient Access Specialist - Green Bay Part-time

About the role

The Patient Access Specialist champions the Patient Access team at HSHS - St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay, WI. This role is responsible for performing admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Patient Access staff are responsible for assigning accurate MRNs, completing medical necessity / compliance checks, providing proper patient instructions, collecting insurance information, receiving, and processing physician orders, and utilizing an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
• Operates the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
• Adequately adheres to policies and provides excellent customer service in these interactions with the appropriate level of compassion.
• Works within the policies and processes as they are being performed across the entire organization.

Requirements

• 1+ years of customer service experience
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company paid)

Pay

This position pays between $17.00 - 18.15/hr based on experience.

Schedule

This position is an onsite role, and candidates must be able to work on-site at HSHS - St. Mary's Hospital, Green Bay, WI. Part time available shifts include two 12-hour shifts every 3rd weekend/holiday and an on-call weekend about every 6th weekend, and six 12-hour shifts per week, every 4th weekend, on-call every 6th weekend.
