About the role

Southwest Care Center is a non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC-LAL) located in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM. We provide comprehensive healthcare services including medical, behavioral health, case management, community outreach, diabetes education, and pharmacy services. We also offer gender equity medicine, syringe exchange, and HIV/Hepatitis C treatment, testing, and other services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect customer support to the clinical team.
  • Responsible for pre-registration, financial determination, appointment scheduling, and coordinating front office and registration functions.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and other staff, other agencies, and patients.
  • Collaborate with the clinic staff and other SCC Departments to ensure appropriate workflow within the clinic.
  • Function as a liaison between the Patient Access Specialist, Patient Access Supervisor, and all staff.
  • Serve as a resource to on-site Patient Access Staff.
  • Provide exceptional service excellence to patients and guests, by demonstrating a positive attitude, patient-focused and professional manner at all times.
  • Promote patient access by answering and managing calls from a telephone system, including transferring calls to appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Promptly retrieve and reply to voicemail messages.
  • Utilize electronic scheduling software to enter and track patient interactions as appropriate, including updating accurate patient demographics and insurance information at all times.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of the electronic scheduling software, electronic health record, and scanning.
  • Verify insurance eligibility for each patient visit.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.

Pay

The competitive rate of pay for this position is $X per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with a flexible schedule to accommodate clinical needs.
