Patient Access Specialist

This is a 24/7-hour facility. Flexible schedule for 12-hour shifts. The Patient Access Specialist will provide positive and consistent patient experience for registration, utilization review, discharge planning, and administrative support for the Psychiatric Hospital and Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Services. Duties/Responsibilities Below are the primary duties and essential functions of an employee in this position. While not all tasks may be performed by every employee in this role, all employees are expected to perform related tasks as needed. Provide consistent, friendly, and professional presence at the front desk.Assist all patients, visitors, and contractors to check-in and out of the building.Communicate with staff in all departments about arrival and departures of patients, visitors, and contractorsRegister, check-in, and schedule patients for servicesGather required insurance, identification, legal documentation, and consents for registration into programsSupport patients with accessing healthcare coverageAssist with monitoring patient charts for complete and thorough documentation needed for the authorization and billing processSubmit documentation to insurance providers for authorization of services.Other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment.The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending, lifting, twisting) in the work area. Required Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
