About the role

We are seeking a customer-focused Patient Access Representative II to join our team at Baptist South in Jacksonville, FL. This part-time role supports patients throughout the registration and access process, ensuring a positive experience and accurate, efficient access to care.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, and healthcare team members
• Assist patients with registration and access, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information
• Verify insurance coverage and collect required patient information and documentation
• Address patient questions related to registration, insurance, and access-to-care
• Communicate professionally with patients and internal departments
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow privacy and organizational policies
• Utilize computer systems and patient access technology to document and update patient information
• Support efficient patient flow and contribute to a positive patient experience
• Register patients accurately and efficiently using multiple systems and interfaces
• Cross-train to work in multiple patient access areas
• Maintain service excellence for face-to-face and telephonic encounters
• Contribute to annual Patient Access Services goals (e.g., collections, palm scanning)
• Demonstrate strong understanding of State and Federal regulations, including EMTALA, AHCA, and JCAHO
• Maintain professional relationships with clinical and non-clinical team members
• Articulate compliance documentation and ensure completion of required patient consent forms
• Maintain patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Customer service experience (required)
• Healthcare experience (required)
• 1–2 years of insurance experience (required)
• Experience in hospital registration or patient access (preferred)

Schedule

Part-time, scheduled shift: Wednesday and Thursday, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM.
