Responsibilities
- Communicate with patients, participants, and staff to accurately schedule prescribed procedures and gather necessary demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
- Enter patient information into the appropriate database.
- Resolve issues about the type, date, or location of prescribed procedures by seeking appropriate resources.
- Schedule patient procedures to efficiently utilize patient time and clinical resources.
- Coordinate and communicate schedules.
- Assist with insurance pre-certification/authorization activities.
- Provide counseling to patients or representatives regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
- Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
- Fill in at any registration desk (once trained) to check in patients and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Travel to multiple sites and accept work assignment changes as early as 6:00 am.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more), and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication; ability to hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25–50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
