Patient Access Representative I- Advanced Imaging Support Services

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily operations of the advanced imaging department
  • Look ahead on imaging schedules for possible issues
  • Take phone calls for the department
  • Work with technologists and radiologists on scheduling procedures and exams
  • Upload images to PACS for radiologist comparison and archiving
  • Contact patients to remind them of their scheduled appointment and reschedule missed appointments
  • Work with patients who show up late to find a solution
  • Provide patient satisfaction by promptly and courteously responding to needs and requests
  • Ensure insurance authorizations are completed and clear exams off the schedule if necessary
  • Enter patient electronic medical records (EPIC)
  • Assist with other areas as needed
  • Communicate any delays to the front desk and providers with same-day appointments
  • Work with requesting providers to find the best solution for add-on patients
  • Communicate any issues to the appropriate modality and/or Radiology Supervisor
  • Perform any other support duties as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations (preferred)
  • Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing (preferred)
