Responsibilities
- Assist in daily operations of the advanced imaging department
- Look ahead on imaging schedules for possible issues
- Take phone calls for the department
- Work with technologists and radiologists on scheduling procedures and exams
- Upload images to PACS for radiologist comparison and archiving
- Contact patients to remind them of their scheduled appointment and reschedule missed appointments
- Work with patients who show up late to find a solution
- Provide patient satisfaction by promptly and courteously responding to needs and requests
- Ensure insurance authorizations are completed and clear exams off the schedule if necessary
- Enter patient electronic medical records (EPIC)
- Assist with other areas as needed
- Communicate any delays to the front desk and providers with same-day appointments
- Work with requesting providers to find the best solution for add-on patients
- Communicate any issues to the appropriate modality and/or Radiology Supervisor
- Perform any other support duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 1 year of customer service experience
- Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and regulations (preferred)
- Previous experience with hospital information systems or word processing (preferred)
