Full-time, 12-hour night shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM). Schedule alternates: Week 1 – Thursday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2 – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Works six consecutive 12-hour shifts followed by eight consecutive days off.

About the Role

In an Emergency Room setting, you will greet patients and family members and obtain and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during patient registration. Responsibilities include entering patient/guarantor data into the patient accounting system, collecting patient signatures on forms, and scanning registration documents. You will also obtain and process signed physician orders, conduct online insurance eligibility/benefit verification, notify patients/guarantors of liabilities, collect payments, and refer cases to financial counseling as needed. Additional duties may include providing escort and directional support to patients, family members, and visitors. The role focuses on enhancing the patient experience through face-to-face interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and family members in the Emergency Room.
  • Obtain and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information.
  • Enter patient/guarantor data into the patient accounting system.
  • Collect patient signatures on required forms and scan registration documents.
  • Obtain and process signed physician orders.
  • Conduct online insurance eligibility and benefit verification.
  • Notify patients/guarantors of liabilities and collect payments.
  • Refer appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up.
  • Provide escort and directional support to patients, family members, and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (required).
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred).
  • Data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minute).
  • One year of applicable experience in a healthcare provider or payer environment (preferred).
  • Proficiency with various software programs and ability to use multiple systems to obtain or validate information.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).
