Patient Access Representative

About the Role

As "the champion of first impressions," our valued Patient Access professionals are key contributors to the overall patient experience. You will maximize your talent for organization, operations, and customer service while leading and guiding change. In this role, you’ll collaborate with administration, management, physicians, and other staff members to support patients, visitors, and other customers.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive impression for each patient, family member, visitor, or staff member while performing pre-admitting, admitting, and/or registering tasks, as well as routing or escorting patients, family, or visitors.
• Interview patients or relatives to obtain demographic and financial information required for registration/admission and record it in the electronic record system.
• Verify insurance benefits, explain financial requirements to the patient or representative, and collect the outstanding patient portion prior to or at the point of service.
• Serve as a mentor to new associates and assist in new employee orientation.

Requirements

• Office experience in a healthcare environment, medical terminology, multitasking, and prioritizing skills preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Windows XP/7, and website search engines.
• High School diploma required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work involving prolonged periods of sitting and exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally.

Benefits

• $400/month Summit County housing stipend available for full-time residents of Summit, Park, Eagle, Grand, Clear Creek, or Lake Counties.

Pay

$18.97 - $32.19 per hour.
