Patient Access Representative

About the role

We're seeking a Patient Access Representative to support a smooth, accurate, and welcoming experience for patients and visitors. This role plays a key role in patient admission, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling, ensuring every interaction is efficient and compliant with financial and insurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately collect, analyze, and record demographic, insurance, financial, and clinical data in the system, ensuring all required documentation is complete
• Maintain strong knowledge of insurance plans and verification processes
• Answer and route phone calls professionally; take accurate messages
• Educate patients on financial obligations, including point of service (POS) collections and estimates
• Assist with patient self-service registration processes
• Monitor and manage multiple work queues to ensure timely workflow
• Refer patients who need financial assistance with their clinic/hospital bills to a Financial Advocate
• Schedule walk-in procedures and collaborate with central scheduling regarding other needs

Schedule

Week 1: Mon/Tue/Wed/Sat 6a-2:30p. Week 2: Sun/Thurs/Fri 6a-2:30p.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of customer service or healthcare related experience is preferred
