Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing all front-end workflows by monitoring accuracy of patient information including demographic and insurance information into the EHR.
- Coaches and mentors all Patient Access teams towards providing exceptional service; conducts hiring, onboarding, training, discipline, performance management, and related routine personnel operations.
- Implement and streamline processes related to patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Operations and Clinical teams, providing quick resolutions surrounding patient access issues.
- Ensures all staff are compliant with relevant healthcare regulations including HIPAA.
- Supervise the insurance verification and authorization process, ensuring accurate and timely confirmation of patient coverage and benefits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to patient access, registration, and insurance verification.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to optimize scheduling practices.
- Track, monitor, and analyze Patient Access KPIs to identify areas of improvement and efficiency gains.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to FQHC Revenue Cycle Management.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements: Associate's degree in health administration or related field, 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Management, at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role in Revenue Cycle Management, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and practice management software, preferably EPIC, strong working knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management in a healthcare setting specifically in patient access, registration, insurance verification, FQHC experience is highly preferred, Ability to write and run various workbench reports and dashboards to monitor activity and identify trends, Access to transportation for travel to other UCFS sites in Colchester, Griswold, Norwich, and New London, CT as needed.
