Description

The Patient Access Counselor is responsible for facilitating a positive patient experience through friendly coordination and advocacy during the patient stay in the facility. Duties include:

• Facilitating registration and pre-registration processes
• Aiding in proper identification of patients and collection of demographic information
• Financial counseling and collection
• Verifying and entering insurance information
• Completing financial forms and determining possible charity care assistance
• Reviewing and correcting billing files
• Explaining payment options and collecting payments
• Processing insurance verification, authorization, and pre-authorization requests
• Maintaining work queues and ensuring patient encounters are documented in the electronic health record

Responsibilities
