About the role
The Patient Access Coordinator at Sheltering Arms Institute plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's daily operations. Reporting to the Patient Access Manager, this position is based out of the Bon Air location but works from other locations one day a week, including Reynolds, Laburnum, and the main hospital.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks essential to the organization's operations.
- Assist with the registration process for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Work closely with department registrars to ensure high-quality work product.
- Educate staff on processes and provide guidance on changes.
- Train new hires and assist with reporting.
- Serve as a department liaison with internal and external customers.
- Support the Patient Access Manager in managing staff and scheduling.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills in a PC environment.
- Ability to multi-task, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in a health care setting preferred.
- Insurance knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Some college or business school training is preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of prior experience in a business setting is preferred.

- Proficiency in PC environments.

Sheltering Arms Institute offers a competitive compensation package, with final salary determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The range is $22.00 - $27.00 per hour.
