About the role

As a Front Office Manager, you will manage the efficient operation of the front office, ensuring a positive experience for patients, staff, and referral sources. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, verifying and updating patient information, handling financial transactions, scheduling appointments, and providing patient support.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing information on wait times and addressing inquiries
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
  • Handle walk-in registrations
  • Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
  • Cook up follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
  • Serve as a liaison for clinic services, offering information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to obtain necessary patient information
  • Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience
  • Experience in a receptionist position or experience with medical front office procedures preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s standards
  • Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone), and written communication skills
  • Ability to type 30 words per minute with accuracy
  • Understanding of Alpha filing system
  • Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology
  • Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
  • Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc.

Qualifications
