Patient Access Coordinator

About the role
The Front Office Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients, staff, and referral sources. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, verifying and updating patient information, handling financial transactions, scheduling appointments, and providing patient support.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing information on wait times and addressing inquiries
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
- Handle walk-in registrations and collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
- Cook up follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
- Serve as a liaison for clinic services, offering information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
- Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to obtain necessary patient information
- Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience
- Experience in a receptionist position or experience with medical front office procedures preferred
- A valid driver's license and driving record meeting Hanger's standards
- Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone), and written communication skills
- Ability to type 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Understanding of Alpha filing system and medical reimbursement and terminology
- Knowledge of using computers, including Windows-based software and e-mail
- Ability to use office equipment such as facsimile machines, calculators, postage machines, copiers, etc.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.00-$21.00 per hour, plus a bonus and benefits. Hanger's salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location, and other variables.
