About the Role
The Patient Access Center Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients, handling appointment scheduling, inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service in a high-volume call center environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer and triage incoming calls professionally, ensuring high patient satisfaction.
- Respond to appointment requests via phone, email, and other channels.
- Work with the team to manage call queues efficiently and schedule appointments accurately.
- Assist referring physicians with patient scheduling.
- Collect and input patient demographic, clinical, and insurance information into the system.
- Learn and apply medical knowledge related to scheduling and clinical protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards.
- Build strong collaborations within the practice to ensure quality information delivery.
Requirements
- High school diploma with customer service or call center experience.
- Technologically proficient, with familiarity in Office Suite and adaptable to new software.
- Excellent communication, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with patients and coworkers.
- Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Details
This is a full-time, on-site role that may require minimal travel. Physical demands include sitting, standing, and handling objects up to 50 pounds. The role emphasizes providing outstanding patient experiences and maintaining confidentiality.
