Patient Access Associate
About the Role
The Patient Access Associate for Verona will ensure smooth patient flow and proper registration for multiple services provided in the Verona Cancer Center, including ambulatory clinic registration, lab, and infusion procedures.
They will interview patients to complete the registration process, obtain demographics and financial information, and determine if a patient needs an estimate based on current CMS No-Surprise Act requirements. The role involves informing patients of estimates, estimated out-of-pocket balances, and offering payment plans or financial assistance.
Additional responsibilities include registration work queue monitoring, quality review and support, and acting as a liaison between patients and internal departments.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients to complete registration and obtain demographics and financial information.

Requirements
- Associate's degree and two (2) years of related patient financial, insurance, or registration experience in a healthcare setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a diverse patient population.
- Efficient keyboarding skills.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, day shift.
