Responsibilities
- Oversight of Memory Care (Pathways) programming
- Maintenance of Memory Care resident safety and security
- Facilitation of programming to meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
- Planning and organizing daily events, including large and small group activities
- Maintaining regular communication with residents, family members, and associates
- Development of daily, weekly, and monthly calendars, monthly newsletters, family functions, support groups, and community outreach
- Maintaining a proactive and person-centered approach to meeting residents' needs, including addressing challenging behaviors
- Coordination and communication of resident care needs with resident family members and the Executive Director
- Coordination of a volunteer program for the benefit of residents in accordance with company policy
- Documentation of community history with photographs and scrapbooks
- Operation of program within budget
- Serving as Manager on Duty ("MOD") as assigned
- Collaboration with other members of the management team to market and manage the community
- Performance of all other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Four-year degree with emphasis in gerontological studies or recreation programs (preferred)
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License where necessary and meet company driving standards
- Able to read, write, and speak the English language and communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff members
- Required to work some evenings and weekends for special events
- Ability to possess or acquire a valid driver's license to drive on company time as needed
