Must have a PhD, M.D or D.O. with Board Certification or Board Eligibility.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Research Activity - Increase research funding to Department from NIH and other sources.
- Create new knowledge and advance existing theories and principles.
- Integrate scientific integrity, ethics, and transparency in all research activities.
- Apply knowledge in new settings.
- Disseminate findings through open communication and professional peer review.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse professional workforce.
Basic Requirements
- Experience with quality improvement methods, tools, and measurements.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards such as JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA.
- Ability to work independently and make reliable recommendations and diagnoses.
- Knowledge of hospital and service procedures and policies regarding hazardous materials, biohazards, and universal precautions.
- Relevant experience with IRB requirements for handling clinical samples and cohorts.
Job Responsibilities (Include But Not Limited To)
- Participate in educational activities for pathology residents, fellows, medical students, graduate and medical students, and mentors.
- Serve as a mentor for researchers and investigators.
- Collaborate with other investigators within the University.
- Participate in Department of Pathology hospital committees and working groups.
- Maintain high standards of professional services to ensure JCAHO/CAP/CLIA accreditation.
- Maintain an NIH-funded research program focused on HIV/AIDS.
- Engage in Medical School committees related to CFAR missions, research mentoring, and clinical studies.
