About the role

The Molecular and Genomic Pathology Services (MGPS) Laboratory is seeking an Assistant Professor to serve as an Assistant Laboratory Director and Molecular Pathologist. This position will lead the MGPS Laboratory, which provides molecular diagnostic services to patients across Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee laboratory operations, including quality control and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement new molecular diagnostic tests and technologies.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to interpret results and provide patient care recommendations.
  • Train and mentor laboratory staff, including technicians and technologists.
  • Contribute to research initiatives within the laboratory.

Requirements

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in molecular diagnostics.
  • Board certification in Clinical Chemistry or Molecular Pathology.
  • Experience leading a laboratory and managing a team.
  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
  • Experience with laboratory informatics systems.
