Assistant Professor-Clinical Pathology
About the role
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seeks multiple enthusiastic clinical pathologists, who are collaborative team players at the assistant professor level. There are multiple positions available. The KSVDL is a full-service, AAVLD-accredited laboratory, offering a complete range of diagnostic services for all species. The DMP is comprised of faculty with expertise in pathology, virology, immunology, infectious disease, epidemiology, toxicology, and parasitology. All faculty, including this position, contribute to training of veterinary students, graduate students, and post-doctoral trainees, interns and residents. The candidate will join a pathology team of clinical and anatomic pathologists, technologists, and interns. The candidate will be a co-leader in building our clinical pathology residency program and serve as a resource to medical technologists in the state-of-the-art KSVDL clinical pathology lab.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to training of veterinary students, graduate students, and post-doctoral trainees, interns and residents.
- Join a pathology team of clinical and anatomic pathologists, technologists, and interns.
- Be a co-leader in building our clinical pathology residency program.
- Serve as a resource to medical technologists in the state-of-the-art KSVDL clinical pathology lab.
- Follow the KSVDL quality management system documents and processes and the AAVLD Standard.
- Collaborate and conduct clinical investigative research.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD, or equivalent), Board certification or board-eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP).
- Preferred Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, evidence of effective teamwork, ability to pursue Kansas veterinary licensure through the Kansas Board of Veterinary Examiners.

- Must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
