Pathology Lab Assistant | Part Time 20hrs | Days

Responsibilities

• Process surgical, cytology, and histology specimens.
• Receive Pathology specimens into department.
• Utilize instruments in processing specimens.
• Perform dissecting duties, such as opening skull, removing brain, and assisting in taking cultures and blood.
• Perform quality control, checks, calibrate, and maintain equipment in working order.
• Prepare autopsy room, instruments, supplies, blocks, and specimen containers.
• Collect waste Formula 83 and Ethanol for recycling.
• Prepare and package specimens for send out to outside lab.
• Demonstrate compliance with corporate, departmental, and job-specific requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Associates Degree).
• One year experience in related job required.
• Experience in a clinical pathology laboratory preferred.
