Responsibilities
- Process surgical, cytology, and histology specimens.
- Receive Pathology specimens into department.
- Utilize instruments in processing specimens.
- Perform dissecting duties, such as opening skull, removing brain, and assisting in taking cultures and blood.
- Perform quality control, checks, calibrate, and maintain equipment in working order.
- Prepare autopsy room, instruments, supplies, blocks, and specimen containers.
- Collect waste Formula 83 and Ethanol for recycling.
- Prepare and package specimens for send out to outside lab.
- Demonstrate compliance with corporate, departmental, and job-specific requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Associates Degree).
- One year experience in related job required.
- Experience in a clinical pathology laboratory preferred.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
