Pathologists' Assistant

Position Details

Facility: Central Patient Building • Location: Sioux Falls, SD • Address: 1305 W 18th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57117, USA • Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts • Schedule: Full time (40 hours/week)

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of a physician, perform gross description, dissection of human tissue, surgical specimens and postmortem exams. Must utilize critical and independent judgment in decision‑making and problem‑solving.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Pathologists’ Assistant required.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with a Health and Human Services (HHS)‑approved laboratory Pathology Assistant certification may be considered under leadership review (per ASCP changes 2010).
• Possess an HHS‑approved laboratory certification as a Pathologists’ Assistant.
• Registry‑eligible candidates must pass the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of hire.
• Employees hired on or before 2010 with no license are grandfathered under ASCP changes.

Pay

Salary range: $40.00 – $57.00 per hour.

Schedule

Rotating day shifts (6:00‑2:30, 7:00‑3:30, 8:00‑4:30) plus one 10‑hour rotating work week (6:00‑4:00). No weekends. Autonomy, supportive pathologists and pathologists’ assistants, shared PA office with personal workspace, experienced stable team.
