Pathologist - Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine

About the role

This role provides the chance to work within a collaborative team of seasoned pathologists at a premier medical center with access to advanced diagnostic resources and meaningful clinical engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of blood bank/transfusion medicine cases
  • General surgical pathology and cytopathology sign-out (as needed)
  • Participation in quality improvement and hospital committee work
  • Intraoperative consultations and frozen sections

Requirements

A minimum of three years of post-training experience is preferred. A fellowship or significant experience in blood banking/transfusion medicine is required. Expertise should span all facets of transfusion medicine, including immunohematology, consultative hemotherapy, apheresis and exchange procedures, hematopoietic progenitor cell and mononuclear cell processing, cellular therapy, coagulation management, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in general surgical pathology is also expected.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic acumen, a fellowship or significant experience in blood banking/transfusion medicine, and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. They should have a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist certification.
