Patent Prosecution Associate/Agent

About the role

Our client, a prominent AM100 law firm, is seeking a Mid-level or Senior Patent Agent or Mid-level Patent Associate to provide patent prosecution services in software and electronics IP. Candidates will work on cutting-edge innovations across diverse industries, with opportunities to support healthcare and medicine-related IP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
• Collaborate with clients in various industries, providing strategic patent portfolio management.
• Draft high-quality patent applications and office action responses.
• Work closely with inventors and engineers to translate innovations into robust IP protections.
• Support due diligence, patent litigation, or licensing matters as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• USPTO registration required.
• Familiarity with all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution.
• Prior law firm experience required; industry experience or patent litigation exposure is a plus.
• Exceptional academic credentials and strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
