About the Role

Join Sundt, one of Arizona's leading builders, and be part of a high-profile industrial project with long-term opportunities for skilled craftsmen. We’re looking for experienced concrete patchers with expertise in vertical walls and columns for heavy commercial/industrial concrete construction.

Pay

$28 - $30 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

40+ hours minimum per week with overtime opportunities. Long-term, full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, and perform all types of concrete work in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Use concrete tools such as a bull float, trowel, edger, and concrete vibrator.
• Work in other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
• Produce high-quality work safely and productively at all times.
• Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment, and information are available for the work.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in tasks, means, and methods; learn from others and share knowledge.
• Demonstrate high proficiency in all related trade mathematics.
• Inspect subordinates' work to ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications; explain deficiencies and take corrective action.
• Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year (Level I), two years (Level II), three years (Level III), or four years (Senior) experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry with an in-depth understanding of the carpentry trade.
• Willingness to travel to other states.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
• Effective utilization of all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• Comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• Stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
• Wear personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest).
• Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
