PAT Financial Coordinator

About the role
The PAT Financial Coordinator proactively identifies patients with financial needs before the visit, assists with insurance and financial assistance options, promotes point-of-service collections, establishes payment arrangements, and helps patients navigate available resources. This role serves as the primary liaison between patients and the revenue cycle to improve patient satisfaction, increase collections, reduce bad debt, and support access to care.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify patients with financial needs before their visit
- Assist with insurance and financial assistance options
- Promote point-of-service collections
- Establish payment arrangements
- Help patients navigate available resources
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients and the revenue cycle
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, or related field preferred
- Two years of experience in healthcare registration, medical billing, insurance verification, customer service, or financial counseling preferred
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance preferred

- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly and compassionately
- Working knowledge of medical billing terminology and insurance benefits
- Ability to explain payment options and establish payment plans
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments

Pay
$20.25 - $23.50 per hour
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 5/8-hour schedule. May offer support to other sites as needed based on business needs.
