About the role
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Sous Chef to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily production of fresh, high-quality pastry items.
- Ensure production processes, quality standards, and deadlines are met.
- Read, understand, and train team members on menu specifications.
- Supervise, motivate, and assist a team of kitchen associates.
- Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as outlined in the food safety management system handbook.
- Report any issues with the food safety management system to your manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Maintain food safety standards and upkeep.
- Accurately monitor and reduce waste.
- Work with a sense of urgency and a hands-on approach to kitchen needs.
- Complete assigned tasks within given deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years’ culinary experience in a high-volume, full-service kitchen, managing a team of at least 5 members.
- Associate’s degree in pastry arts.
- Mastery of baking techniques and knowledge of current catering industry trends.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that build trust and instill confidence.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across different functions and levels.
- Schedule flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- HACCP knowledge.

Pay
$70,000–80,000 yearly.
