Key Responsibilities

  • Pastry Production: Prepare large quantities of baked goods including cakes, cookies, pies, breads, and specialty desserts for events of varying size.
  • Recipe Execution: Follow traditional and modern recipes to ensure consistent quality, flavor, and presentation.
  • Presentation & Displays: Create decorative dessert displays and ensure all pastries are presented professionally and creatively.
  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain compliance with Boise Centre standards and all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Workstation Management: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Pastry Chef and culinary team to accommodate special requests and support event needs.
  • Inventory Support: Assist with monitoring bakery inventory and supplies to support efficient production.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of baking or culinary experience.
  • ServSafe or Idaho Food Handlers certification required.
  • Strong understanding of baking techniques, temperature control, and kitchen operations.
  • Experience with specialty baking including gluten-free and alternative dietary options preferred.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Dependable, professional, and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in warm kitchen environments for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
