About the role
This position is responsible for providing evidence-based emotional and spiritual support to patients and families as well as identifying and addressing religious needs relevant to their goals and those of interdisciplinary care teams. The role also supports the pastoral needs of staff and contributes to the vitality of the Beebe Healthcare organization.
Responsibilities
Care of Persons
- Deliver effective pastoral care to patients, families, and staff using advanced interpersonal communication and religious leadership skills.
- Ensure emotional and spiritual needs are met through evidence-based practices for routine care, bereavement, or crisis intervention.
- Address ritual and sacramental needs through direct care or timely referral.
- Document pastoral encounters promptly, including assessment, intervention, and any continuing plan of care.
- Be available for emergent needs at all times, including days, weekends, and overnight shifts.
Care of Organizations
- Maintain interdisciplinary relationships by attending and actively participating in patient care rounds, family meetings, and interdisciplinary consultations.
- Promote pastoral care as an integral healthcare discipline through participation in institutional programs and public events.
- Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with community religious organizations, including the Pastoral Visitor program.
- Recruit and supervise volunteers where appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Care of Self
- Maintain professional affiliations and participate in professional development activities.
- Utilize institutional, professional, and personal resources to promote personal growth and well-being.
Requirements
- Ability to run errands throughout the facility.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Associate's Degree in a related field (essential).
Skills
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of basic computer programs.
- Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
- Able to withstand crisis situations.
- Skills to provide customer service to patients, team members, and visitors.
Pay
Entry: USD $27.17/Hr. – Max: USD $42.11/Hr.
