About the Role
This solo pastor position seeks a shepherd who seeks God’s will, embodies strong faith, holds scripture in high regard, loves God’s people, and has a passion for discipleship. The ideal candidate will lead the congregation in worship, provide pastoral care, and advance the church’s presence and gospel proclamation.
Responsibilities
- Lead Sunday worship services and special services including weddings, funerals, and baptisms.
- Prepare and deliver biblically sound, engaging, and applicable sermons.
- Provide pastoral care and counseling to church members, including hospital visits, home visitations, and premarital counseling.
- Lead and develop church programs that support spiritual growth and fellowship, including Bible studies, youth programs, adult and children’s education classes, training for elders and deacons, and membership and communicants classes.
- Collaborate with the session to execute the church’s vision and mission.
- Direct ministerial team members and youth workers.
- Participate in community outreach and service projects to strengthen church-community relations.
- Guide congregational efforts in local evangelism and foreign missions.
Qualifications
- Required Master of Divinity degree.
- Active part of a conservative reformed Christian church.
- Holds fast to the doctrines of the Westminster standards.
- Acquainted by word and practice with The Book of Church Order.
- If not currently ordained in the PCA, prepared to stand for ordination in the Presbyterian Church in America.
- Significant theological and biblical competence as well as the necessary administrative skills for pastoral ministry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals.
- Compassionate and empathetic leader.
