About the role
Jacksons Gap Baptist Church, located near Lake Martin, is seeking a full‑time or bi‑vocational pastor.
Responsibilities
- Planning, decision‑making, delegating, and conflict resolution
- Conducting worship services, sermons, funerals, weddings, and other observances in accordance with church bylaws
- Leading the congregation to accomplish the church’s vision and growth
- Encouraging, nurturing, supporting, and reconciling church members
- Providing counseling and crisis ministry
- Leading the congregation in observance of church ordinances
- Preaching the Gospel dynamically and with clarity so that the lost and saved alike will hear, understand, and respond to it
- Overseeing the reestablished streaming services
- Continuing the children's/bus ministry every Wednesday night
- Organizing the annual Fall festival and Vacation Bible School
Requirements
- Ordained, licensed minister
- Agreement with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
- Possession of the biblical qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1‑7 and Titus 1
