Pastor of Senior Adults and Visitation - Alexandria Covenant Church

About the role

The Pastor of Senior Adults and Visitation will help senior adults connect in meaningful ways with God, the church, the community, and with one another. This role involves direct oversight of the ministry to seniors and visitation to the church membership.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of the ministry to senior adults in cooperation with the senior’s ministry team.
• Develop and oversee a visitation ministry to members and regular attendees of the church.
• Develop and maintain ministry budgets for specific areas of oversight on an annual basis.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings.
• Participate regularly in Sunday worship services through prayer, announcements, dedications, baptisms, and the Lord’s Supper.
• Preach and teach God’s Word periodically in Sunday morning worship services and other ministry settings.
• Assist the Senior Pastor in officiating funerals for members and attendees of Alexandria Covenant Church.
• Provide pastoral care to the congregation through prayer, encouragement, counseling, visitation, and other means necessary.

Requirements

• Be born-again and living a dedicated Christian life.
• Possess spiritual gifts, along with the professional and educational background adequate for the position.
• Commit to the vision, mission, values, and ministry philosophy of Alexandria Covenant Church.
• Be licensed or ordained in ministry.
• Be a member at Alexandria Covenant Church.

Qualifications

• Professional and educational background adequate for the position.
• Experience in overseeing ministry to senior adults.
• Experience in developing and maintaining ministry budgets.
• Experience in providing pastoral care and visitation.

Skills

• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
