Vision and Mission
The vision of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church (PC USA) and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (ELCA) is to grow and serve the community in a bold and loving manner. We aim to focus outreach on our belief in justification by faith and the grace of God. We strive to provide a space where spiritual needs and views of those with different faiths can be nurtured and shared in both discussion and service.
Openness to Applicants
We are open to applicants outside of our traditions as long as they are willing (and interested!) in exploring new aspects of their faith. Elkins, a small college town in the scenic highlands of West Virginia, is a center for outdoor recreation and a vibrant arts community. We serve as one of the gateways to the Monongahela National Forest, and thousands of people travel to Elkins each year to participate in the Augusta Heritage Center's Appalachian Arts and Culture Workshops.
Supporting Institutions
- The churches also support the Davis and Elkins College Chaplain by providing housing, which is located adjacent to the church and the pastor's manse.
What You Will Be Doing
If the idea of working closely with a college chaplain, or just having a peer as a neighbor seems appealing, this might be the call for you.
