Passenger Bus Driver - Fulltime - Afternoon - Detroit

About the role

Transport HFH employees and guests to various parts of the Henry Ford Hospital System facilities and parking lots in a friendly, courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Transport HFH employees, staff, and guests between the New Center Pavilion, Main Campus, and off-site locations.
• Greet and assist passengers.
• Stay on designated route unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.
• Log number of passengers and their destinations to track shuttle-service usage.
• Perform daily safety check of vehicle as required by state law.
• Refuel vehicle, check fluid levels, and top off as necessary.
• Assist passengers who are handicapped or need help with packages, bags, or suitcases.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle by disposing of litter (cups, cans, bottles, wrappers, etc.).
• Manage all equipment and supplies required to perform the job.
• Report any changes or restrictions to your driving license to leaders/supervisor.
• Drive bus comfortably in all weather conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred).
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with P endorsement in good standing (3 or fewer points).
• Valid DOT Medical Card (must be in possession at all times).
• Successful completion of U.S. and Michigan Department of Transportation Background Screening & Hiring Processes.
• Manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination for safe bus operation.
• Near and far visual acuity, depth perception, and spatial perception.
• Ability to adapt to repetitive, short-cycle activities following set procedures.
• Customer-friendly demeanor and etiquette at all times.
