About the role

The IRC seeks a Pashto Language Interpreter to provide professional translation and interpretation services to support the organization's mission and operations.

Responsibilities

• Translate and interpret accurately between English and Pashto languages in various settings including meetings, interviews, and group discussions.
• Ensure confidentiality and maintain the integrity of sensitive information during interactions.
• Provide interpretation services for individuals seeking assistance and support from the IRC.
• Adhere to IRC’s professional standards and ethical guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of professional interpreting experience.
• Native or near-native fluency in both English and Pashto.
• Experience working in humanitarian contexts preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas clearly.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel internationally as required.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Pashto.
• Proficiency in using translation software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• High level of empathy and cultural sensitivity.
