PARTY ROOM ATTENDANT
About the role
Provide stellar customer service to internal and external customers, including participation in and promotion of customer service programs to continuously improve service. Retrieve, prepare, display, sell, and serve products to guests for party room events. Follow appropriate food handling procedures to ensure safe, quality products. Maintain freshness of food and beverage items by rotating, filling, and keeping items at appropriate temperatures.
Perform tasks to ensure an attractive and safe physical appearance of working areas, including cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, and mopping. Ensure all areas are clean and attractive, such as cleaning tables, removing dishes, cups, tableware, debris, and litter, and cleaning floors. Stock supplies as needed, including plates, napkins, tableware, condiments, and food products.
Complete necessary paperwork, account for cash, credit, or check payments, and make appropriate drops. Set up, tear down, and clean up party room areas for events, including arranging tables, chairs, decorations, AV equipment, stages, podiums, dishes, tableware, glasses, cups, and food and beverage products. Operate machinery such as cash registers and beverage machines. Receive, store, and use items like pop canisters, CO₂ tanks, bottled beverages, and linens.
Comply with all alcohol awareness training. Prepare and present buffet-style service lines, including dessert stations, banquet lines, and banquet bars. Assist in the operation of other food and beverage venues as needed. Attend all departmental and company training programs or meetings as directed. Compile information, complete, and submit reports as needed. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, gaming laws, and regulations.
Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner, including keeping areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris, and litter. Meet department uniform, appearance, and grooming requirements. Perform any reasonably requested job duty to promote productivity or any reasonable request made by your supervisor or management personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to prepare, read, and comprehend documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
- Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs, including counting money.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, state, or federal law.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes very loud.
- Employee could be exposed to an environment containing unrestricted secondhand tobacco smoke.
