Event Coordination

Coordinate and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.

• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client's feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.

Customer Service

Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.

• Provide fast and friendly checkout experience.
• Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
• Absorb and respond to customer feedback.
• Support Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).

Operational Tasks

Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.

• Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Work in a public retail store setting taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks;
• Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press;
• Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.

Additional Training

Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
Ability to move throughout the store.
Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
